Raymond Brabant

After my ex passed away and I realized I had close friends who were addicts and hiding it, I gathered information from addicts who were in recovery.

My kids’ father, Raymond Brabant, my ex-husband, passed away the day he got out of rehab from a heroin OD.  It was the first time my kids were allowed to spend the night with him after being kept away for three years.

He had been in a car accident and got hooked on pain pills and went downhill from there.  He lost friends, his job, his family and became someone no one knew.  I’ve also lost several friends/classmates to this epidemic.

After my ex had passed away and I realized I had close friends who were addicts and hiding it, I gathered information from addicts who were in recovery.  I wanted to know how they did it when it seemed so many could not.  I wanted them to share their stories straight from the horse’s mouth so-to-speak.  So I published a book, “Get Clean. Stay There” in hopes of helping people.  Let me know if you want to read it and maybe contact some of the people in it & I will send you a digital copy.

It’s eye-opening.  Most of the stories are from addicts who were addicted before they knew what addiction was.  Because of this epidemic and my kids being without a father I also created a guided memoir to fill out since so many people are dying. I also published a children’s book in hopes of comforting those who lost a loved one. www.perduebooks.com
